ARE YOU IN FAVOUR OF INTENSIVE SCHEDULE OR AGAINST IT? SHOULD YOUR SCHOOL CHANGE THIS POLICY?

At most schools in our area, people start at 9:00 and they finish at 17:25. But a new policy explains that in the future schools could do an intensive schedule: the students would start at 8:30 and they would finish at 14:45. Our schedule isn’t bad, but I’m in favour of intensive schedule.

In my opinion, intensive schedule is good for several reasons. Firstly, we would seize the day because we would get up earlier and we would have the rest of the day to do other things such as doing homework, studying and also we would have more time for ourselves. Secondly, we could have lunch more slowlier and without a rush. Finally, we could organize our extramural activities better.

So all in all, I think that it’s a great idea to have intensive schedule, and for that reason I think that the policy of the school should change.

BRAD'S BIOGRAPHY

Brad Pitt was born in Oklahoma on 18^th December 1963. After five years, his family moved to Missouri. At the age of nineteen, Brad studied Journalism but five years later, he left university and he went to California. In California he got small parts in TV programmes and commercials.

His first important film was in 1991, when he appeared in Thelma and Louise. When he was thirty-seven, he married Jennifer Anniston but five years later, they broke up. In 2001, Brad starred Ocean’s Eleven. After four years, he met Angelina Jolie.

Since then, Brad has starred in many films and he has won one Golden Globe.

BUILD A DOG PARK!

I’m writing because there aren’t enough bins for dogs poop and there isn’t any dog park. Dogs can’t enter the majority of the parks, so dogs can’t run or stay with other dogs and also, there are dog faeces on parks and on sidewalks. I send some photos that show some dog faeces on a children park, on sidewalks and on a square.

I think there are two reasons for this problem. Firstly, the council don’t think about dogs problems and they spend all their money on things for people, so perhaps we need to build a dog park and dog excrements bins. Secondly, people aren’t responsible enough because they don’t pick up their dog faeces, so I think that the council could do public-spiritedness campaigns.

We must do something about this situation. Maybe the council could build a dog park where dogs can run without danger or they can play with other dogs. Also, the park could have an obstacle circuit and dog excrements bins. If we build them, we will have no more faeces and we will have a cleaner town.

FILM REVIEW > CAMINO

Camino is a Spanish film of 2008 directed by Javier Fesser. The film is based on the real story of Alexia González-Barros, a girl who died of spinal cancer when she was only fourteen years old in 1985.

The main character is Camino, an eleven-years-old girl. She was born in a family where her mother and her sister believe in a Catholic organization called Opus Dei. She had a malignant tumor in her spinal cord although she was happy in hospital believing that she would go with Jesus when she died. In the film, Camino faces at the same time two new and different events: falling in love and dying.

The film won six Goya Awards in 2008: Best Actor, Best Breakthrough Actress, Best Actress, Best Director, Best film and Best Original Screenplay.

The thing I liked most about the film was the main actress because she was very strong. In the film you can see her dreams which reflect her worries about death. My favourite scenes are when she dances and when she is with the boy she likes. The scenes that make me cry every time are her last moments in the room of the hospital and when she dies.

All in all, I really liked the film, and though it hasn’t got a happy ending, I wouldn’t change it. Finally, I think that the moral of this film is overcoming.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF MIREIA

Mireia is my cousin, she studies Interior Design in Barcelona and she takes practice lessons. She has an interesting and exciting life and I explain it in this composition.
From Monday to Friday, Mireia usually gets up at eight o’clock, she has a shower and then she has breakfast. At ten o’clock she goes to the office to take practice lessons. She finishes at two o’clock and then she has lunch in her flat with her flatmates, Dani and Miriam.
From three o’clock to nine o’clock she is at her University doing her final project. At a quarter to ten she has dinner and then she surfs the Internet and she goes to bed.
At the weekend she gets up at eleven o’clock, she has a shower and then she has breakfast.
In the morning and in the afternoon she usually does projects and homework, she surfs the Internet, she goes shopping, she visits Barcelona… In the evening she often goes to parties, she meets friends, she goes to discotheques, clubs…
Twice a month, she comes to Banyoles at weekends to relax and to visit her family and her friends. Mireia gets up at ten o’clock and then she has breakfast. And at half past two she has lunch. After, she surfs the Internet and she meets friends. She arrives at 8 o’clock and then she has a shower and she usually goes to parties and she hardly ever arrives early.

MY FRIEND

Andrea and I are friends and I have known her since I started school, when I was two years old. Andrea lives near me, in the same neighbourhood. We went to the same primary school and now we go again to the same high school.

Andrea has got one cat named Hermes. She has got one sister, called Estefania, who is studying a Laboratory Vocational Training Course.

Andrea is fourteen years old. She is a light-skinned girl and she’s quite tall. She has got short brown hair, a round face, curved eyebrows, oval eyes, a short nose and a round and large mouth.  The good thing about her is that she’s cheerful, generous, original, friendly and very funny, although she can also be stubborn and proud. We have got different personalities and sometimes we can be angry, but we usually solve it.  But after all she’s a wonderful person.

Andrea is happiest when she’s talking and joking with her friends. She is an artist sketching and I love her paintings and her drawings. In fact she wants to be an Arts teacher when she grows up.
